NAME: Ghostshell
ALIASES: Ghost
SEX: Male
ORIENTATION: Straight But Open Minded
AGE: 44 Moons
CLAN: Riverclan (Windclan Blooded)
POSITION: Deputy
APPEARANCE:
Ghostshell is a black and white tom, with very little out of the ordinary about his stature from where his blood comes from. His black markings are prominent on his face, save for a strip of white that goes from cheek to cheek over his nose. The rest of his body is rather simple - white with a patch of black here and there, and a ting of brown from years of Riverclan mud streaking his belly. The Deputies eyes are a dull blue, often sparked with a love for life and happiness - the most noticeable trait he and his brother shared.
Ghostshell's fur is short, often clean kept by his own tongue. It fans around his developed muscles, helping give him a rather masculine appearance, even though most in his clan can muster more strength then him. He doesn't like to tussle, and would rather work out things verbally, so this is of no great concern to him.
His shoulders are very square, worked out greatly from moons of being hunched over the river fishing with his black paws, which is a tell tale sign of Riverclan warrior. His speed though leaves a air of concern - his back legs built for gliding easily across the land in a sprint. To help hide his true origins, Ghostshell is very hesitant to race across the swamp of Riverclan, and prefers to keep a mild trot. In battle though, he'll easily break it out full force. Ghostshell's speed would be at the top of Windclan charts - inherited from his father's quick feet.
PERSONALITY:
Ghostshell, like his brother, took much of his Mother's genes, all the way down to her upbeat lively hood. The tom enjoys idle chatter, and is more than happy to listen to a kitten prattle on about imaginary battles that were held in the confines of camp.
Beyond idle chatter, it's almost hopeless to attempt to hold a serious conversation with the tom. Of all the positive traits he took down, his sense of humor and quirky words are utter failures. Mostly everything he says comes off a tinge off hand or random, making it slightly discouraging to hold communications with him. He's very open minded thanks to his brother, Ravenwing, so he'll sit through and listen to everything another says.
He's a supportive tom, and will uphold anything in Riverclan's favor, or when it comes down to it and his own is not at stake, Windclan's. Although he's quick to back something up, it's never only for one team. Ghostshell often times plays 'referee' and will sit in the middle of a arguement to keep things civil but will never side with only cat - he'll drop positive things for both sides just to ensure he's not influencing anyone's opinions, as he believes greatly in open-mindedness and everyone's own take on things.
Ghostshell's own take on things leaves him very on the edge of Riverclan, set between following Starclan's words to a 'T' to only thinking of things fair to all. It never effects his loyalty when it comes to cross-clan events, but when with in the walls he can be a little too indecisive. He needs someone to kick him in the rear usually.
Although Ghostshell has plently strength, he hates to use it aside from protecting his clan, and lets the other warriors scrape skin and claw to prove their loyalty, as he tends to believe his own lies in helpful logic and supporting the clan's structure. He does have a desire for an apprentice though, in terms that'd he'd be able to help Riverclan keep supporting themselves in the future.
FEARS:
--> Being Rejected By Others For His Open Mindedness, and outside views on things.
--> Being Sent Back to Windclan.
RELATIONS:
FATHER:
- Hawkstep [Windclan] (Starclan): A dusty gray tom with soft blue eyes, known for his incredible speed.
MOTHER:
- Goldenwing [Windclan]: A very upbeat she-cat, with a dark pelt and almost gold hazel eyes. Ravenwing is named after her.
SIBLINGS:
- Ravenwing [Windclan] (Starclan): Despite being of different clans, the two were rather close. Though Ravenwing's loyalty was often challenged by their out-of-the-way meetings, they both wouldn't of been able to make it through apprenticeship without each others support.
MENTOR:
- Quickstep: He had a very rough time with Ghostpaw, as the tom didn't care for his quick discrimination against everyone not like him.
CRUSH/MATE: N/A
OFFSPRING: N/A
OTHER:
- Birdsong [Windclan]: His brother's former apprentice. She knows the secret about him, but promises to take it to the grave with her. Ghost is confident she will.
- Chaosfrost [Shadowclan]: They met at a gathering when she was still an apprentice, and have become good friends since then. Ghost sees their friendship as a good 'relationship' ambassador for the two clans, but he's not sure how Chaosfrost thinks of it.
HISTORY:
Ghostkit was born beside a pitch black brother, under his mothers bright green gaze, and his father's carried down sky orbs. Pure Windclan blood fills his veins, and with a great joy he began his life inside the Moor swept nursery, beside Ravenkit. At the time though, Ghostkit and his brother were un-named, and were still when the incident happened.
Hawkstep was renown for his break neck pace, which kept him as a known name around the clans. This also left him open as a target. One dark night, a few short days after his kind was born, the dusty tom made a stop near the Riverclan border on a rare, self-appointed solo patrol. On the way he came across a solo Riverclan cat, paw steps deep into Windclan. With the best stealth he could manage, he attacked, setting the intruder off balance, tumbling them into the river after a hot pursuit.
The tom resurfaced on the other side, and immediately called for Hawkstep's help. Lost in the adrenaline, Hawkstep over looked the sharp scent of a new born kit, having been accustomed to it on his fur for the past few days. The intruder had been carrying a way ward kit that had been thrown away by it's mother in a fit of hysteria. She'd regreted it deeply, and through breaking wails demanded the father bring it back. Hawkstep was stunned. He'd just murdered a member of Windclan.
Goldenwing had been hesitant for anyone to near her first litter, and to keep them at bay left them nameless until their personalities were to bloom. No one was exactly sure how many, or their appearances with in the clan. Hawkstep used this to his advantage to ween his sudden guilt. With agility, he napped his name-less two tone son from the nursery and made haste for the border. The frantic father was skeptical, but accepted it as an atone for the sin and fluttered back to Riverclan. Hawkstep followed loosely after.
It would make sense that the kit smelt of Windclan, if it had been deposited there like the prior lost in the river, so the tom had no hassle returning it to his queen. Quick words and a calm of her mind, the kit was accepted and claimed the name of the one before him - Ghostkit. He was two days older then the one he replaced, but it was a lost fact as he been young enough only few in the clan had seen the previous to tell them apart.
Hawkflight then panicked. What had he done? He wouldn't be able to reclaim Ghostkit on his own, oh no, he needed a lie, quick. And with his renown hurried feet, he slipped and tumbled into the river just like the lost newborn moments before him.
Ravenwing had been told his brother had went missing with her father, and never spoke of again. Goldenwing was unaware of the truth, and that Ravenwing had ever pieced it together himself.
As an apprentice, Ghostpaw had an encounter with Windclan, and a patrol that housed Ravenpaw. Something in each other's eyes captured them, and suddenly Ghostpaw felt himself returning. To his luck, Ravenpaw was there with a wild theory. And it was right. Ghostpaw found himself crawling to his adoptive father and asking - and found his world suddenly rebuilt. The two single-kin apprentices now his blood bonds, and spent a lot of their free time meeting at the border. This continued into warrior ship, until Ravenwing passed on.
Ghostshell had wanted to become a leader since the day he grasped the concept of the term, and quickly found his goal rivaled by Glorypaw when she was taken under her father's wing. Ghostpaw never announced this, but he was envious of her. When Ashstar died, it was only natural his pick of the litter and deputy took his spot, but delight filled Ghostshell when he was named deputy. His leader hopes quickly fluttered off, satisified on a lower level, and that him and Glorystar were too close in age for it to be possible for him to become her successor by natural means.
Ravenwing helped Ghostshell come to see the world through wider eyes, and to take everything negative as a grain of salt to the much bigger things. They kept each other as support, and through his brother the deputy came to meet Birdsong, to whom learned of their blood ties on the raven's death bed. He trusts her above most cats, deeply influenced by his brother's presence in her, creating her to be one of the few he's biast when around.
