NAME: Glorystar ALIASES: Glory, Glore , Glow, Star, Boss SEX: She-cat ORIENTATION: Straight AGE: 42 moons CLAN: RiverClan POSITION: Leader
APPEARANCE:
Gorystar is the incarnation of how a RiverClan cat should be. First for her body: She is about medium-sized with a sleek, graceful build. She is not overly slender, but she has a neatness to her outline that many she-cats crave. She has an air of power about her that comes from the muscles that ripple like water beneath her skin and bunch up in her hind legs, giving her great physical strength. Her tail is long giving her good balance when she turns sharp corners. When she moves she does so with thoughtless smoothness, speed and agility.
Her face isn’t exactly pretty in the way one usually thinks of upon hearing the word, but it is certainly not ugly. Instead it has the power to strike awe and respect into the heart of those she meets. There is a sense of wisdom in her fine, sharp features. She has a fairly long muzzle that gets narrower towards it end. Her nose is pink with a fine black outline, as if someone had drawn around it with a pencil. Her whiskers are long and curve gracefully downward. The break between her muzzle and her face is smooth, the top of her muzzle curving up to meet her middle-sized forehead. On top of it are two fairly large ears. They are set wide apart and the inside of each is a delicate shade of pale pink. She has none of the sensitive ear fur most cats have. Her intense eyes are medium-sized and oval-shaped, their colour being a pale but bright shade of gold.
The texture of her pelt is like that of most RiverClan cats. It is short and very smooth, lying flat against her skin. It contains a lot of oil, which serves to keep water from reaching her skin. It has the added effect of making her pelt shine in the light. However normal the texture of her pelt maybe, at least among RiverClan cats, its colour is very unusual. Her base colour ranges from pale bronze on her cheeks and sides to a dark sooty colour on her back, tail and legs. It seems that her base is ticked not unlike an Abyssinian. Over it all are thick tabby stripes that on most of her body are broken up into squashed ovals. On the top of her head she several long, thinner stripes that continue along the back of her neck. Two other unbroken stripes run across each cheek, one from the corner of her eye and the other from just below it. On her forehead the classical tabby ‘M’ is just recognisable. She has a white blaze that starts on her lower jaw and runs down her belly.
She doesn’t pay much mind to her appearance as some cats. She takes care to groom often and keep herself in good order, but she is not vain or particularly proud of how she looks, it’s just not something that bothers her.
PERSONALITY:
As soon as one meets Glorystar, it is easy to see why she is leader. Not only does she look the part, she is charismatic and loud, with a knack for getting herself heard above babble and noise. She has a strong presence, making her difficult to ignore, and her speaking skills are great. She will move around, include her audience and throw in the odd joke, all the while explaining what she means in concise, easily-understood terms. Most cats love it when she talks to a group, as she tries to be as interesting as possible.
It’s not unfair to say that she is not the best tactician ever. She’s intelligent in terms of logic and understanding others, but when it comes to making plans she needs help. She knows and accepts this, and to try to combat this she will hold meetings for the whole clan. In these meetings she will ask for ideas, and together with her deputy she will sift through the responses until a foolproof plan has been concocted. She extends the same idea to other areas of clan life, every time there is a problem, everyone gets a say in what is done to fix it.
In this way Glorystar is quite a humble leader. She knows that her position doesn’t make her perfect and she is very careful to always remember the fact. She believes that every cat mistakes, but because of who she is a mistake from her is often more damaging than that of a normal warrior. In fact she is so aware of how she could potentially mess up that she has become almost too careful. She doesn’t have much faith in her own ideas or thoughts, and she often turns to other cats for reassurance that what she’s doing is right.
When she is not giving orders or inspirational speeches, Glorystar tries to act as much like a normal warrior as she can. She loves to sit with her clan mates and chat about whatever happens to be on their minds. She is just as charismatic and bright as always, but however much she bubbles with internal energy she always remembers to let the other cat speak. She’s as good a listener as she can be, and she always seems to know the right thing to say and when to say it. She tries to give good advice, but if it isn’t official clan-related advice she’s not offended if it’s not followed.
When it comes to other clans, Glorystar is usually laid-back. She doesn’t allow cats from other clans on her territories of course, but she has no prejudice against RiverClan cats and she doesn’t encourage it amongst her cats. She loved her clan with all her heart, and though she would never say it, believes it to be the best, but she believes that all cats should be treated equally, regardless of where they come from.

[/li][/ul][/blockquote][/blockquote] RELATIONS: FATHER: Ashstar (deceased) MOTHER: Truthheart SIBLINGS: Splendourpelt MENTOR: Ashstar (deceased) CRUSH/MATE: None OFFSPRING: None OTHER: Ex-apprentice - Jaspergaze
HISTORY: It was the middle of green-leaf when Truthheart, a beautiful young RiverClan she-cat gave birth to a litter fathered by the leader of the time, Ashstar. In the litter were two kits, females that were identical, and they were named Glorykit and Splendourkit, for they were both marvellous to look at.
For the entirety of their kithood, Glorykit and Splendourkit lived under the care of their vigilant, loving mother, and the protection of their fierce, strong father. They were a perfect pair, with personalities that allowed them to play in harmony without fighting or even arguing. They were so close that they each swore an oath to forever stand by the other. They promised that they would never leave each other’s sides, no matter what happened. It is an oath they stick to to this day.
They were never perfect kits. Like all cats their age they longed to see the world outside the camp, to go exploring and see what they could find, but they were strictly forbidden from doing so by their father. From the moment the twins were born Ashstar drilled them in the ways of the clan and how they must behave. He enlisted a sense of duty in them, a duty to become great. They took his words on board, and carried them close to their hearts.
When they were six moons old Glorykit and Splendourkit left Truthheart’s side and became Glorypaw and Splendourpaw. It was no secret that Ashstar favoured his own offspring, so it was no surprise when he selected one of them, Glorypaw, as his own apprentice and gave Splendourpaw to his deputy. Despite the grumblings of the other clan cats, both apprentices did very well. Glorypaw, under the influence of her determined, strict father, progressed a little faster than her sister, but the two were by-and-large equal in skill.
As much as Glorypaw loved her father, she was always a little scared of him and she was never quite comfortable during her training. Nevertheless she did her very best, pushing herself to the limit every day, so determined was she to unlock her potential and please her father, as well as prove herself to the rest of the clan. She also worked on her socialising skills, making friends out of the other apprentices and allowing her natural charisma to shine through.
When they were about twelve moons old Glorypaw and Splendourpaw were given their warrior names of Glorypelt and Splendourpelt. They quickly became well-respected and well-liked warriors of RiverClan, and they were both very happy. They were so well-liked, in fact that Ashstar felt comfortable giving them both an apprentice just 2 moons after becoming warriors. Many other warriors weren’t happy about this, but they kept their mouths shut and waited to see how the twins would do would do.
They both did very well, as it turned out. Glorypelt’s apprentice, a she-cat named Jasperpaw, was initially a little unmotivated with her studies, but after a little coaxing from Glorypelt she came around and proved herself as the intelligent, bright apprentice she actually was. The two became very close, and Glorypelt was almost sorry when she became Jaspergaze a several moons later.
Four moons after Jaspergaze’s warrior ceremony, the deputy of the time decided it was time to retire. This left the deputy position open and Ashstar, ever dedicated to keeping power in his family, gave the spot to one of his daughters. Initially he didn’t know which one to choose, but eventually he selected Glorypelt as he had mentored her and knew she was right for the job.
Although initially a little surprised at her promotion, Glorypelt took to it like a duck to water. She helped her father organise patrols and generally govern the clan, though she made sure to include Splendourpelt as much as possible, being lost without her sister’s aid.
A whole twelve moons later tragedy struck the clan. Ashstar, who was a beloved leader despite his tendency to put his own family first, lost his last life. He had been leading a group of cats on a hunting patrol when they came across a fox. They were many and all were strong, and they drove the fox off easily, but in the process Ashstar obtained a small scratch to the side. It seemed like nothing, and he went home triumphant at he and his patrol’s kill. However, as the days went by and the scratch showed no sign of improvement, the medicine cat began t get worried. Soon it became obvious that the wound was infected, and despite everyone’s best efforts he eventually died after weeks of suffering.
Glorypelt took his place by default, and since then she has been leading RiverClan as Glorystar.
[/i] EXTRA: Uhh... nope.
[/size] ADDED | FOR HIGH POSITION TRY-OUT PURPOSES
ATTRIBUTES:
Glorystar has natural leadership skills, which would obviously be a good asset for one in her position. She’s also dedicated to her clan, putting its safety above pretty much everything else in the world. She’s kind and compassionate to, and not so proud that she is above asking for help if needed. She’s sensible with a steady head on her shoulders, and she’s not one to go starting wars just because she wants to. She asks the deputy before she makes any big decision, ensuring that at least two points of view have been discussed.
IMPLICATIONS:
During her time as leader Glorystar hopes to establish her clan as a respected and appreciated one. She doesn’t want to rule everyone, instead she hopes to encourage an equal balance of power between the four clans that will mean peace and harmony for many moons to come.
