APPEARANCE:

Smokestar's pelt is just what you would expect from a cat with the prefix of Smoke. His fur is a dark smoky-grey colour, from his head to the tip of his tail. His long fur is usually silky smooth from being well-groomed as he believes that looking good is a part of being respectable. In contrast to his dark coloured fur, Smokestar's bright green eyes stand out. His eyes are probably his most notable feature about him and something that many cats use to distinguish him by. Smokestar's ears are of normal size, fitting the top of his round head nicely. His nose is a really dark grey colour, almost black while his whiskers are white and quite long, which helps him to navigate when even his powerful eye-sight fails him.

Beneath Smokestar's pleasant colouring, strong muscles ripple through his body with every step he takes. His strides are also filled with sureness and pride at what he has accomplished in his life. Under the thickness of his fur, his body has many scratches and scars from various battles and intense training. One of his most noticable scars is on his left leg, which he obtained during a border battle. Various other scars are seen along his body but most of them are covered with his long fur.

Smokestar is not one of the biggest cats to be seen in the forest, but he definitely isn't small either. At a medium build, he finds himself able to run quite fast, be lithe and agile, as well as stand his ground against an opponent. As a kit and apprentice, Smokestar had always been a bit lanky. Now, as an older and experienced warrior, he has grown into his legs, which are still a bit on the long side, but he is glad for them.

PERSONALITY:

Smokestar would be absolutely nothing if it were not for his clan. He is fearless when it comes to protecting his clanmates and compassionate when need be. He will stop at nothing to prove that his clan is strong and healthy. Smokestar never takes no for an answer. If he can't do something the first time he will work even harder the next time until he gets it right.

In the dark, Smokestar's pelt can look almost black. But don't let the glowing green eyes fool you, he is actually a softy underneath his hard gaze. He feels emotions, just like every other cat, and understands that sometimes it is best to just think things through instead of always using brute force and acting before thinking.

Smokestar is a loving, caring leader but he also knows when to tell whoever is complaining to grow up and be the warrior they are supposed to be. Who cares if you get a tangle in your pelt? As long as you've won the battle, then you have something to show for yourself. He doesn't take kindly to cats who whine about nothing. A tick in your fur is nothing, while a broken bone is something to be worried about.

Of course, Smokestar does have his bad side too. He gets agitated quite quickly, and often loses his temper. He'd never do anything to hurt one of his friends or family, but that bush you like so much? History. But then again, he's usually sorry afterwards. One thing Smokestar can not stand is when a cat does something purely for their own self. He always thinks of his clan before himself.

FEARS:

Smokestar doesn't fear much, but what he does fear is something that all leaders and even other warriors would fear. That their clan would fall to pieces and that he would be helpless to put it back together again. Of course, this fear is irrational, but always in the back of Smokestar's mind.

HISTORY:

Almost from the day Smokekit was born, he knew he wanted to become leader of Thunderclan. It was not that he was power hungry, but he knew that he would make a good leader and make wise choices for his clan. And... okay... when he was a kit he wanted power, too. Imagine having to stay in the nursery all day long, bored out of your brain. Talk about bor-ing! And even when he first became an apprentice, one of the most proud moments of Smokestar's life, he couldn't help but feel that he was being cheated and used. Until he realized that serving his clan in any way possible was the best thing any cat could ever do, even if it was just cleaning out dirty, smelly bedding. Before he realized this, he had wanted to become leader to change the rules, but after, he knew he wanted to become leader so he could enforce the rules and show everyone that serving your clan in every way possible was the most amazing thing. He wondered how kittypets and loners ever lived, not having a clan to take care of.

Smokepaw was a happy apprentice, he tried his best and learned quickly the ways of the warrior and the land that surrounded them. He was smart and cunning and quick on his paws, although a little clumsy at times. His sister, Cedarpaw was less enthusiastic about the life of a warrior and often questioned if she had been born into the right clan, or even if she were to be born into the clans at all. One night, she and Smokepaw had a conversation in the middle of the clearing, being careful to make sure no one else was around. Curious, as always, Smokefur wondered what Cedarpaw was up to. She had always been a mischevious cat, but what she said surprised Smokepaw. She told him that she was leaving the clan to live life as a loner. Aghast, Smokepaw tried to presuade her to stay, but it was clear she had made up her mind. He said goodbye, and before she left she told him that her name was now just Cedar and she hoped to see him in the future. The tabby ran off into the night, and still to this day Smokestar has not seen her. Except for one fleeting glance through the trees only a few moons ago.

Smokepaw quickly became Smokefur, as his loyalty and wisdom shone through even at a young age. Doing his best was what Smokefur was good at, and so he continued to do his best, watching as new kids were born and the clan grew. He missed Cedar, as he know recalled her by, but he learned to move on. Smokefur continued to hope for the position of deputy, but with the current one just ten moons older than him, it didn't seem likely that his life long dream would occur.

However, the deputy before him rushed into the same battle that gave Smokefur his most noticable scar. But instead of just a scar, the she-cat died an honourable death. The clan mourned for their deputy, as she had been a brave and loyal cat, and although Smokefur was deeply saddened by the loss, he couldn't help wondering if he had proved himself enough to take her place. Miraculously, when the leader came out of her cave to announce the new deputy, it was his name that she called. Pride filled Smokefur, who was now 44 moons old. He took to his new position with such enthusiasm that many of his clanmates had to almost laugh. He turned out to be a great deputy. Smokefur was always ontop of things, organizing patrols and hunting groups while still having time for fun and training a few apprentices along the way.

The day that Smokefur's leader died was a sad one. The clan mourned like never before and it was with sadness that Smokefur took on the name Smokestar. He was proud, of course, but he missed his friend and leader. She died of old age, and it was perhaps the best thing for her to join Starclan.

When Smokestar recieved his nine lives and his name from the moonstone, he saw his leader there and she gave him his fifth life, which was to help him be brave even at the toughest times.

It's been eight moons since Smokestar has become leader. It sounds like a short time, and indeed it has been, but Smokestar has enjoyed every second of it and nothing in this life could have made him so proud as to have finally completed his life long dream. But now, he is determined to show everyone how great Thunderclan can be.

Smokestar has a huge ambition to prove to everyone that he, and especially his clan, is the best. He will stop at nothing to show everyone that Thunderclan is the best clan to belong to. Smokestar is strong. Not just physically but mentally as well. He doesn't take no for an answer and knows that every cat has feelings that can be damaged. Smokestar knew from a young age that he would make a fantastic leader.

IMPLICATIONS:

As stated above, Smokestar wants to show everyone that Thunderclan is the best. He wants to be leader because he knows he can do a good job. He is assertive, direct, and smart. Smokestar believes that with him as leader, Thunderclan will prosper and grow.
