Graysnow sighed and lazily flicked her tail, bathing in the scarce winter sunlight. The warmth hardly penetrated through the cold atmosphere, so Graysnow was very thankful for the wonderful rays that were now bombarding her pelt. She slowly blinked her shocking blue eyes and stretched out on her side. This was a rare moment for her; Graysnow was normally out on tiring patrols at this time; most of the warriors were, actually, especially in leaf-bare. But Graysnow was bending it a bit and getting some rest, though guilt still prickled at her paws. I should be out hunting right now! a fierce thought nagged, but she pushed it away. "Why worry?" she mumbled, looking up to the clear light blue sky. "It's a coldfront, all right! It's leaf-bare!"
The gray she-cat rose to her paws and shuddered, fluffing up her fur against the bitter wind that began to whip. Looking at the low fresh-kill pile, Graysnow blinked and decided to stretch her legs this fine morning. "Or rather, windy morning..." she muttered, and twitched her ears as she brushed through some thick reeds which led to the territory. "Now, to hunt!"
She sniffed the air; Graysnow didn't like birds, or really many land/sky animals really, so she headed towards the river. Her paws lightly touched the ground and her blue eyes were narrowed against the ever-battering winds. As she grew closer to the river separating ThunderClan and RiverClan, she closed her eyes. I'm almost there... she thought, and tried to avoid the despair washing over her as she approached Sunningrocks, where her father and brother had died. "I'll find out who killed them, and take vengeance," she vowed, gritting her teeth as she left the sad place.
Graysnow perked up her ears when she heard the ever so slight ripples of a fish gliding through the water. Her ear had become very sensitive to such things, and she was excited. Fish! she thought, and hoped that it was one of her big luggers. Graysnow - Thornshadow

Ghostshell The water babbled at his paws, purring at it's joyous chorus now that the river had thawed enough for the flow to break the surface. His black toes curled into the dirt, still yet hard with frost that had arrived early in the morning to remind them that they weren't quite out of the clear quite yet. The Riverclan deputy's eyes closed into content slits, blue orbs hidden as the morning was contemplated. Normally one didn't adventure alone, but the new-leaf scent on the air tinged his nostrils and sent him wheeling from the camp, the air around the reed bedding stiff and stale from winter and sickness. Ghostshell shifted slightly as behind him the grasses sounded a alarm, and he drank in a deep breath through his nose and out his mouth. " Graysnow," he chimed softly as if any louder would have disrupted the scerene waterscape, " Couldn't stay in, too?" The black and white tom chuckled at nothing in particular, finally swiveling his head around to catch a glimpse of the female approaching.

"Graysnow..."
The she-cat whipped around, her blue eyes right on the being who had said the quiet greeting. Relief made Graysnow twitched her whiskers when she spotted Ghostshell, the RiverClan deputy. Finding that her fur had bristled with alarm, Graysnow now took this time to flatten it and relax. Her ears perked up; she had barely missed the next words her deputy spoke. "Couldn't stay in, too?"
At first, Graysnow was a bit puzzled, though she just nodded a little bit and tilted her head at the handsome tom. Desiring to stir up some conversation, Graysnow muttered, "So, what's up?"
Because the sun was fairly high in the sky and it had risen not too long ago, Graysnow now found herself opening her jaws wide in an ultimate yawn, white fangs showing and everything. Though Graysnow did not do anything to stop it; she was exhausted! Her limbs tired already... she had gone on too many patrols the week before, and the day before now she had gone on two border patrols and had hunted a considerable amount. Graysnow, of course, had totally forgotten about her "big lugger", but now that hunger stung, she winced and remembered that fish she had heard to be rippling...
Graysnow's eyes widened and she snapped her head toward Ghostshell. She blinked twice, not knowing if she had missed anything. Mousedung! she whispered internally. I've totally zoned out!
And of course, she had been oblivious to her surroundings then. Graysnow now shuddered and fluffed up her fur in protest to the cold seeping into her toes. Her breath came out in white plumes of smoke-like air. It mystefied her, but Graysnow was now more cautious of not zoning out anymore. Thus, she turned her attentiont to the RiverClan deputy. "Er... so.... yeah. Wanna hunt?" Graysnow offered, swishing her tail. Graysnow - Thornshadow

Ghostshell The black and white tom's tail picked a steady rythm, his black tip curling above his paws as his jaws parted slightly to smile cattily as his clan mate yawned. " Apparently nothing exciting compared to your exploits if you're already so beat for only sun-high." Lately his little bubbly antics had been closed in, stuck inside by the pounding winter. It didn't surprise him when Graysnow's eyes seemed to focus in on her self, and he chuckled a little louder when she came back around, asking for a hunt. " That'd be fine, Glorystar will be pleased to see some fresh spring prey in camp." The deputy's breath curled like hers, creating a little dance between them like a scolding figure, pouting at his dis-interest at the thought of Winter being any longer. " The river's finally thawed enough we can start fishing again."
